A fatal road accident in Odisha claimed the lives of three people after a head-on collision between a car and a passenger bus on National Highway-53 in Mayurbhanj district. The crash occurred near Tangurusahi under Karanjia police limits when a bus travelling from Thakurmunda to Karanjia collided with an oncoming car. The impact was severe, leaving all three occupants of the car dead on the spot.
According to initial reports, the bus was carrying around 30 to 40 passengers at the time of the accident. While the car occupants died instantly due to the force of the collision, the bus driver and a few passengers sustained minor injuries. Emergency services quickly reached the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were sent for postmortem.
Police officials stated that the identities of the victims are yet to be confirmed, although they are suspected to be from Jajpur district and reportedly involved in the construction business. The incident briefly created tension in the area, which was later brought under control. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash, including possible negligence or overspeeding.
