Overspeeding RTC Bus Crashes into Lorry in Medak, Multiple Passengers Injured

Hyderabad: A serious road accident took place in Medak district on Tuesday when a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Super Luxury bus collided with a grain-laden lorry near Kulcharam mandal. The bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Bodhan when the incident occurred at around 3 PM, reportedly due to overspeeding while attempting to overtake the lorry.

According to police officials, out of the 18 passengers on board, around 10 to 12 sustained minor injuries, while the bus driver suffered fractured ribs. All the injured were immediately shifted to a government hospital in Medak for treatment. Authorities confirmed that the condition of the injured passengers is stable, though the driver’s injuries are considered more serious.

Police have registered a case against the RTC driver under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with rash or negligent acts endangering human life. The incident highlights ongoing concerns over reckless driving and safety compliance in public transport, especially on highways where such risky overtaking attempts can easily lead to major accidents.
