The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert, warning residents of Telangana to brace for heavy monsoon rains over the next seven days. According to the forecast, downpours accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected until September 28, with a significant drop in temperatures likely across the state. The warning has raised concerns as people are being advised to plan their travel and daily activities carefully to avoid disruptions caused by intense rainfall.

Weather experts and enthusiasts have also reinforced IMD’s prediction. T. Balaji, known for his accurate weather updates, stated that moderate to heavy rains along with severe thunderstorms are expected to strike districts in North, Central, West, and East Telangana from late afternoon to midnight. In Hyderabad, residents may experience dry conditions in the mornings, but scattered spells of moderate to heavy rain are forecast in several parts of the city from afternoon until night, posing challenges for commuters and outdoor workers.

For the capital city, the IMD has specifically predicted a cloudy sky with intermittent thundershowers through September 25. These conditions could lead to waterlogging, traffic delays, and other inconveniences, especially in low-lying areas. While the arrival of rains brings relief from heat, authorities have urged people to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during peak rainfall hours. With week-long weather disturbances ahead, Telangana residents are bracing themselves for a prolonged spell of heavy monsoon activity.
