30 Civilians Killed as Pakistan Air Force Bombs Village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

A devastating airstrike by the Pakistan Air Force claimed at least 30 lives, including women and children, in the early hours of Monday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to reports, around 2 am, JF-17 fighter jets dropped eight LS-6 bombs on the Pashtun-majority Matre Dara village. The massive explosions leveled several homes, leaving behind a trail of destruction and panic among survivors who are now struggling to cope with the aftermath.

The incident comes amid a recent wave of military operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where Pakistan’s security forces have been targeting alleged militant hideouts in the mountainous areas bordering Afghanistan. However, the civilian toll in this latest strike has sparked outrage, with eyewitnesses claiming that innocent villagers bore the brunt of the attack. Local sources reported that the blast flattened a significant portion of the settlement, raising concerns over the scale of collateral damage in the region.

Human rights groups have already started voicing alarm over the use of heavy aerial bombardments in populated areas, warning that such actions could further inflame tensions in the volatile province. Calls for an independent investigation are growing, as families of victims demand justice and accountability. With dozens killed and many more injured or displaced, the tragedy underscores the severe humanitarian cost of Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terror operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
