Revanth Pushes Centre to Fast-Track Hyderabad Bullet Train Corridors

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urged the Central government to speed up the approval process for the proposed high-speed rail corridors connecting Hyderabad with Pune, Chennai, and Bengaluru. During his meeting with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhavan in New Delhi, the Chief Minister requested the Centre to finalize the alignment of these projects at the earliest. He informed the Minister that Telangana has already reviewed the proposed routes, suggested necessary modifications, and submitted its recommendations to facilitate faster progress.

Revanth Reddy clarified that the Telangana government has not yet begun land acquisition for any of the proposed bullet train corridors. He stated that the acquisition process will commence only after the Central government approves the final alignments. Stressing the importance of completing the alignment exercise without further delay, the Chief Minister said that early approval would allow the state to move ahead with land acquisition and other preparatory works required for the ambitious high-speed rail network.

Apart from the bullet train proposal, the Chief Minister also sought immediate approval for the 360-km Regional Ring Rail project around Hyderabad and urged the Railway Ministry to sanction several pending railway lines across Telangana. These include the Dornakal-Gadwal, Kalwakurthy-Macherla, Kachiguda-Jaggayyapeta, Patancheru-Adilabad, Bodhan-Latur, Akkanapet Bypass, and the Vikarabad-Krishna railway line. He highlighted that improved railway connectivity would boost industrial growth, generate employment opportunities, and support the development of sectors such as cement and textiles, particularly in the Vikarabad region.
