At least 14 people, including five security personnel, were killed and more than a dozen others injured in a suicide attack during a peace rally in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The explosion took place near the Kabal Police Station in Swat district while the Swat Peace Rally was underway. The gathering had been organized by the Swat Aman Jirga, with participants demanding improved security and lasting peace in the region amid growing concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation.

According to police officials, the suspected suicide bomber attempted to enter the Kabal Police Station and the adjoining Police Lines compound but was stopped by security personnel at the main entrance. The attacker then detonated the explosive device at the gate, causing heavy casualties and damaging the entrance to the police complex. Rescue teams rushed the injured to nearby hospitals, where officials confirmed the death toll had risen to 14, while several others continue to receive medical treatment.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, and authorities have launched an investigation to identify those behind the bombing. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Suhail Afridi strongly condemned the incident and directed the Inspector General of Police to submit a detailed report. Security has been tightened across the region as officials continue rescue operations and examine the circumstances surrounding the deadly explosion.
