Two firefighters lost their lives and three others sustained injuries after a massive fire broke out at an electronic chip manufacturing unit in Greater Noida’s Ecotech-3 industrial area late Monday night. According to police, multiple fire engines were rushed to the ILGIM factory after authorities received information about the blaze. Firefighters were engaged in efforts to control the flames when a wall and an iron beam inside the factory suddenly collapsed, trapping and injuring several personnel during the rescue operation.

The five injured firefighters were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fireman Rohit Yadav and Head Constable Driver Tirathpal later succumbed to their injuries, while Head Constable Driver Rajpal Singh and Firemen Manish Kumar and Amit Kumar are undergoing treatment. Officials said the three surviving firefighters are out of danger and continue to receive medical care. The tragic incident has highlighted the risks faced by emergency responders during large-scale industrial fires.

Senior police officials and teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the scene to assist with rescue and investigation efforts. Authorities have launched an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the fire, while legal proceedings are being initiated as part of the investigation. The factory premises remain under examination as officials assess the extent of the damage and work to establish whether any safety lapses contributed to the deadly incident.
