New Delhi: BJP President J.P. Nadda has accused the Congress of “sensationalizing the situation” in Manipur and favoring anti-India forces to advance its political interests. This response came in a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who had earlier written to President Droupadi Murmu expressing concerns over the violence in the state.
Nadda highlighted Congress’ past failures in handling conflicts during its rule, citing the violent periods in Manipur during the 1990s and the prolonged 2011 blockade. He accused the Congress-led UPA government of ignoring critical issues, endorsing illegal migrations, and allowing militant activities to flourish. In contrast, he emphasized the swift actions taken by the BJP government to stabilize Manipur, including mobilizing resources, conducting investigations through the NIA, and focusing on restoring peace and harmony.
The BJP chief also alleged that the Congress party’s strategies aim to divide the nation and encourage anti-national forces. He assured that the BJP government would continue working tirelessly to bring lasting peace to Manipur while rejecting any efforts to destabilize the region for political gains.
