In a compassionate act of community service, 17 unclaimed Muslim bodies were respectfully buried in Hyderabad early Monday morning through the efforts of the Siasat Millat Fund. The burial was conducted at dawn under proper Islamic procedures, attended by volunteers and caretakers who ensured that every deceased individual received their final rites with dignity. The initiative followed requests from multiple police stations across Hyderabad and Secunderabad, which sought help in arranging funerals for unclaimed bodies lying in Osmania General and Gandhi Hospitals.
The coordinated effort was led by Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of The Siasat Daily, who managed logistics with graveyard caretakers Noor Khan, Mehboob Khan, and Ishaq Khan (Wajid)—all long-time contributors to this humanitarian mission. This noble practice, initiated in 2003 by Editor Zahid Ali Khan, ensures that no unclaimed Muslim body is cremated but rather laid to rest as per Islamic customs. Over the years, the Millat Fund has become a vital social support system, bridging the gap between government institutions and community welfare efforts.
Community members, including Bushra Tabassum and Syed Abdul Mannan, commended the initiative for maintaining human dignity beyond death, while Syed Zahid Hussain Qadri led prayers for the deceased. The Siasat administration extended heartfelt thanks to the Telangana Waqf Board Chairman Syed Azmatullah Hussaini for his continued support and urged authorities to allocate more burial grounds to meet future needs. Through this ongoing service, the Siasat Millat Fund continues to stand as a symbol of compassion, faith, and responsibility towards society’s most neglected souls.
