Four Women From Telangana Killed as Car Plunges Off Bridge in Maharashtra

Four women from Asifabad district were killed in a tragic road accident in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district in the early hours of Wednesday, December 24. The accident occurred near Sondo village in Devada tehsil when a car carrying members of a Telangana-based family reportedly went out of control and plunged off a bridge.

According to reports, Zakir, a resident of Nizamuddin Colony in Kagaznagar town, had travelled to Nagpur along with his family and relatives for medical treatment. While returning after midnight, the vehicle met with the accident under circumstances that are still being investigated by the police. The impact of the fall proved fatal for four women travelling in the car.

The deceased were identified as Zakir’s wife Salma Begum, his daughter Shabri, and his relatives Afgha Begum and Sahara. At least two other occupants sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Chandrapur, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Police have registered a case and said a detailed investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
