Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi has been booked by the Delhi Police for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and obstructing a public servant on duty. The FIR, registered at Govindpuri Police Station, states that Atishi, along with 50-70 supporters and multiple vehicles, was present at Fateh Singh Marg despite MCC restrictions. The police claim that when instructed to vacate the area, Atishi and her supporters did not comply and interfered with an official’s duties.

Reacting strongly, Atishi accused the Election Commission of bias, alleging that it ignored violations by BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri and his family while swiftly acting against her. Taking to social media platform X, she stated, “Ramesh Bidhuri’s family is openly violating the code of conduct, yet no action is being taken. Instead, when I complained and called the police, an FIR was filed against me. Rajiv Kumar ji, how much will you destroy the electoral process?” Atishi’s remarks highlight the growing tensions between AAP and the Election Commission as Delhi heads toward elections.

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal also condemned the FIR, accusing the Election Commission of shielding BJP’s misconduct. In a scathing post, he alleged that Delhi Police and the Election Commission were actively working against AAP while facilitating electoral malpractice by the BJP. Kejriwal claimed that instead of ensuring free and fair elections, authorities were involved in distributing liquor and money while suppressing opposition voices. This latest controversy adds fuel to the already heated political battle in Delhi.
