Congress Calls on Citizens to Join ‘Vote Chori Se Azadi’ Campaign by Changing Social Media DP

The Congress party has intensified its campaign against alleged poll irregularities by urging citizens to display solidarity on social media. As part of the initiative titled ‘Vote Chori Se Azadi’, Congress has appealed to the public to change their display pictures (DP) across platforms. Party leaders stated that this symbolic move is aimed at amplifying the call to protect democracy and safeguard the people’s mandate from what they allege to be an orchestrated attempt at “vote theft.”

Rahul Gandhi has positioned himself at the forefront of this campaign, with Congress general secretary in charge of communications, Jairam Ramesh, emphasizing that Gandhi’s fight is not just political but rooted in the protection of constitutional values. In a post on X written in Hindi, Ramesh remarked, “Every stolen vote is a theft of our voice and identity.” He accused the Election Commission and the BJP of conspiring to undermine the democratic process, while reiterating that the Congress’ mission is to expose irregularities and bring accountability to the electoral system.

Meanwhile, both the Election Commission and the BJP have categorically rejected Congress’ allegations, dismissing the claims of “vote chori” as baseless. Despite this, the party is rallying support among citizens, urging them to stand united in the symbolic act of adopting the ‘Vote Chori Se Azadi’ display picture. By making the campaign highly visible across social media platforms, Congress hopes to not only mobilize public sentiment but also put pressure on institutions to address concerns over transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
