Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Central government for failing to supply adequate urea to farmers in the state. He accused the Centre of showing negligence and discrimination against Telangana’s farming community by deliberately withholding the supply. The CM shared a video of Congress MPs from Telangana, along with Priyanka Gandhi, staging a protest inside the Parliament premises, where they raised slogans demanding urgent supply of urea.
Revanth Reddy further criticised the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing its MPs of being absent during the crucial demonstration in Delhi. He questioned why leaders of the BRS, who are otherwise vocal in creating disturbances on the streets, chose to remain silent in the Parliament. Taking a direct dig at the party, he asked whether their silence was out of fear of Prime Minister Narendra Modi or blind loyalty to him. Revanth also used the hashtag “BRS-BJP Bhai-Bhai” to underscore his claim of a tacit understanding between the two parties.
The Telangana CM did not spare Union ministers hailing from the state either, alleging that leaders like G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay were more interested in praising the Prime Minister than addressing the concerns of Telangana farmers. He said that at a time when cultivators are reeling under the crisis caused by the urea shortage, it is the responsibility of all elected representatives to stand united in support of farmers rather than indulging in political appeasement. The CM vowed to continue raising the issue until the Centre ensures sufficient supply of fertilizer to the state.
