A shocking triple murder has shaken Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, where the wife and two young daughters of a Muslim cleric were found dead inside their residence located within a mosque compound. Police said the victims — 30-year-old Israna, wife of Imam Ibrahim, along with their daughters Sofia (5) and Sumaiya (2) — were discovered in pools of blood after being attacked with a sharp-edged weapon. The horrifying scene was first witnessed by children who had arrived for daily religious lessons at the mosque and immediately raised an alarm, bringing villagers and authorities to the spot.

According to officials, Imam Ibrahim, who has been serving at Gangnauli’s Badi Masjid for the past four years, was away in Deoband for work when the incident occurred. Senior police officers, including Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Rai and Deputy Inspector General (Meerut Range) Kalanidhi Naithani, visited the scene and directed a thorough investigation. Naithani stated that five special teams have been formed to probe every possible motive — including family disputes, robbery, or personal enmity — and assured that the culprits would be brought to justice swiftly.

As the bodies were being removed, angry villagers staged a brief protest demanding immediate action and justice for the victims. The situation was brought under control after senior officials intervened and promised strict punishment for those responsible. Police confirmed that Israna was known for teaching children in the mosque compound, making the gruesome killings even more unsettling for the local community. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities vowing to uncover the motive behind the brutal murders that have left the quiet village in shock and grief.
