Bengaluru Horror: Martial Arts Trainer and Wife Arrested for Deliberately Killing Delivery Boy in Road Rage Incident

In a shocking case that has left Bengaluru residents horrified, CCTV footage has revealed the deliberate killing of a 24-year-old food delivery agent, Darshan, by a couple following a road rage altercation. The accused, Manoj Kumar (32), a Kalaripayattu trainer from Kerala, and his wife Aarati Sharma (30), from Jammu & Kashmir, were arrested after investigators discovered footage showing them intentionally ramming their car into Darshan’s scooter. The incident occurred on October 25 in South Bengaluru’s Nataraja Layout after Darshan’s scooter accidentally brushed against the couple’s vehicle, slightly damaging its rear-view mirror.

Despite Darshan’s immediate apology, Kumar allegedly flew into a fit of rage. According to police reports, he took a U-turn, pursued the delivery agent, and slammed his car into the scooter from behind, throwing Darshan and his pillion rider, Varun, onto the road. Locals rushed the victims to a nearby hospital, where Darshan was declared dead. What initially appeared to be a hit-and-run case took a dark turn when police examined CCTV footage showing the couple returning to the scene minutes later, wearing masks, and collecting broken car parts to cover up the crime.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Lokesh Jagalasar confirmed the arrests and said both accused have confessed to their involvement. While Manoj claims his wife was not in the car during the collision, police are verifying her role in the incident. Darshan, a bachelor and resident of Kembattalli, is survived by his parents and sister, who are demanding strict punishment for the culprits. The gruesome episode has reignited public anger over rising cases of road rage and reckless violence on Bengaluru’s streets, raising questions about road safety and mental instability behind the wheel.
