Three Dead, 12 Injured After Lorry Collides with Wedding Party Vehicle in Telangana’s Hanamkonda

A tragic road accident in Telangana’s Hanamkonda district claimed the lives of three people, including two children, and left twelve others injured on Friday, October 31. The incident occurred at Gopalapuram Cross Road in Bhimadevarapalli mandal, when a speeding lorry collided head-on with a vehicle carrying members of a wedding party. According to police, the victims were returning to Saidapuram village in Mahabubabad district after attending a wedding celebration in Siddipet when the collision took place. The impact of the crash was so severe that several passengers were thrown out of the vehicle.

The deceased were identified as Kamalamma (60), Swapna (14), and Trinath (6). The injured were immediately rushed to MGM Hospital in Warangal for treatment, where a few are reported to be in critical condition. Police have registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest the lorry driver lost control while overtaking another vehicle, leading to the fatal collision. Authorities have deployed additional personnel to manage the situation and prevent traffic congestion on the highway.

This accident comes just months after a similar tragedy in August 2025, when a bus carrying a wedding party crashed into a house in Mahabubabad, killing the driver and injuring several passengers. The recurring nature of such incidents has raised concerns over road safety standards and reckless driving on Telangana highways. Officials have urged transport authorities to enforce stricter speed monitoring and ensure regular vehicle inspections to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
