Rahul, a young IIT aspirant from Geesugonda in Warangal, met with a life-changing tragedy when unidentified attackers assaulted him on a train journey to Kota, Rajasthan, and pushed him off the moving train. The incident left him critically injured, leading to the amputation of both his legs. Once a bright student with big dreams, Rahul suddenly found himself struggling not just with the physical trauma but also with the daunting uncertainty of his future.
The case drew the attention of Telangana chief minister A. Revanth Reddy, who stepped in to provide immediate financial support of ₹10 lakh for Rahul’s medical expenses. With this assistance, Rahul was admitted to Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad, where doctors fitted him with advanced prosthetic limbs. According to the medical team, the state-of-the-art artificial legs have enabled him to regain mobility, allowing him to walk again and rebuild his confidence.
Rahul’s parents expressed deep gratitude to the chief minister, describing the intervention as a blessing that gave their son a second chance at life. Despite the brutality of the attack, Rahul has refused to give up on his aspirations. With renewed determination, he has resumed preparing for the IIT entrance exam, holding firmly onto his dream of becoming an engineer and proving that courage and resilience can overcome even the harshest setbacks.
