A road accident in Hyderabad’s Uppal area created panic early Tuesday morning when a septic tanker lost control and crashed into the wall of the Sri Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy temple, located near the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI). The accident, which occurred around 6:00 am on September 16, was captured on CCTV cameras showing the tanker speeding before colliding directly with the temple structure. The driver, identified as Kumar Naik, sustained minor injuries in the incident and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment.

According to Uppal police, no devotees or bystanders were injured in the mishap, and no formal complaint has been registered so far. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, which is suspected to have been the result of overspeeding or possible brake failure. The footage of the incident quickly spread across social media platforms, where locals expressed relief that the accident happened during non-peak hours, preventing what could have been a much larger tragedy.

Police officials confirmed that the temple wall bore the brunt of the impact while the vehicle sustained heavy damage. Residents nearby rushed to the spot shortly after the crash to assist the injured driver and assess the situation. The Uppal police station has launched a probe to determine the exact cause of the accident, while civic officials are expected to inspect the damage to the temple premises. For now, authorities have assured that strict action will be taken if negligence or safety violations are found to have contributed to the crash.
