New Year’s Eve Travel Relief: Hyderabad Metro Services Extended Till 1 AM

To facilitate safe and convenient travel during New Year 2026 celebrations, has announced extended metro services across the city on the night of December 31. As part of the special arrangement, metro trains on all corridors will operate beyond regular hours, with the last trains departing from all starting and terminal stations at 1 am on January 1, allowing passengers to reach their final destinations by around 2 am.

Under normal operations, Hyderabad Metro services run from 6 am to 11 pm daily. However, keeping in view large crowds expected due to parties, concerts, and public gatherings on New Year’s Eve, operating hours have been extended by nearly two additional hours. The move is aimed at reducing dependence on private vehicles and ensuring that late-night commuters and revellers have access to reliable public transport while returning home.

To handle the anticipated surge in passenger numbers, additional security personnel will be deployed at metro stations across the network. Authorities have also made it clear that strict vigilance will be maintained against passengers travelling under the influence of alcohol, and action will be taken against those found violating metro rules. The extended metro services form part of broader efforts by city authorities to promote safer travel options and maintain order during New Year celebrations in Hyderabad.
