A late-night fire incident involving an AC sleeper private bus in Hyderabad’s KPHB created panic but ended without injuries due to quick thinking by the onboard staff. The bus, operated by Sri Durga Maheshwari Travels, was traveling from Miyapur toward SR Nagar, with Palakollu in Andhra Pradesh as its final destination. At around 11 pm, flames were first noticed emerging from the driver’s cabin near the Padmavathi Plaza bus stop.
Reacting immediately, the crew evacuated all 20 passengers before the fire could spread across the vehicle. Within minutes, the flames intensified and engulfed the entire bus, turning a potentially deadly situation into a narrowly avoided disaster. The timely evacuation played a critical role in ensuring that no casualties or injuries were reported.
Police and fire department teams arrived quickly at the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control. However, the incident caused temporary traffic congestion in the busy KPHB area. Authorities have now launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire, with initial focus likely on a possible electrical or mechanical failure.
