A major fire broke out at two furniture shops in Hyderabad’s Medchal area during the early hours of Sunday, October 4, causing extensive damage to both establishments. The blaze reportedly started at around 1:00 am in one shop before rapidly spreading to the adjoining furniture outlet. Thick smoke engulfed the area, prompting local residents to immediately alert the fire department, which responded swiftly to prevent the flames from spreading further.
According to fire department officials, a distress call was received at 1:22 am, following which two fire engines from the Shamirpet and Jidimetla fire stations were rushed to the scene. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the blaze and successfully brought the situation under control after an intensive firefighting operation. Their timely response helped prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and minimized the risk of further damage in the surrounding area.
Police officials also reached the spot soon after the incident and registered a case to investigate the cause of the fire.
