Massive Fire Erupts in Bahadurpura Residential Building, Residents Escape Narrowly

Hyderabad: A devastating fire broke out late Saturday night in a residential building in Bahadurpura’s Kishanbagh area, trapping several residents inside. The fire, which originated in the cellar of the ground-plus-four-storied structure, spread rapidly to the upper floors, causing panic among the occupants. As thick smoke filled the building, many residents attempted to escape through the ground floor but were forced to retreat due to the intensity of the smoke. They eventually reached the first-floor balcony and called for help.

Local residents, noticing the emergency, acted swiftly by placing ladders against the building and breaking windows to rescue those trapped inside. Firefighters soon arrived at the scene and assisted in evacuating the remaining residents. However, their efforts to contain the blaze were hindered by the lack of setbacks around the building, restricting their movement. According to Station Fire Officer K. Surender Reddy, five fire tenders were deployed to control the fire. He also noted that the building lacked basic fire safety measures, making the situation even more dangerous.

The operation, supported by local police, lasted for several hours before the fire was finally brought under control. Bahadurpura MLA Mohd Mubeen visited the site and spoke to officials about the incident. While no casualties were reported, the fire has raised serious concerns about fire safety regulations in the area. Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the fire and assess whether negligence played a role in the incident.
