Telangana Endowments Minister Konda Surekha has written to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy alleging a serious breach of protocol by Ghanpur Station MLA Kadiyam Srihari. In her letter, the minister claimed that Srihari conducted a review meeting with Endowments Department officials without informing or obtaining approval from the minister in charge. She described the incident as a violation of established administrative procedures and questioned how an MLA could issue directions to departmental officials on matters under the Endowments portfolio.
According to reports, the meeting was held on Monday to discuss issues related to temples in Srihari’s Assembly constituency, including Endowments Department lands. During the meeting, the MLA reportedly instructed officials to provide a copy of the Warangal Master Plan and reviewed other departmental matters. Konda Surekha stated that she was informed about the meeting only the following day and termed the development an encroachment on ministerial authority. She urged the Chief Minister to initiate disciplinary action, alleging that the move was intended to undermine her position.
The controversy comes amid reports of growing differences between Konda Surekha and several Congress leaders from the erstwhile Warangal district. Kadiyam Srihari is among the MLAs who were elected on a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) ticket in the 2023 Assembly elections but later joined the Congress. Although the BRS had sought his disqualification under the Anti-Defection Law, Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar dismissed the petitions in March this year, allowing Srihari to continue as an MLA.
