A 29-year-old woman suffered injuries after jumping from the first floor of a private lodge in Mambatta, located in Kerala’s Kozhikode district, in an attempt to escape an alleged sexual assault by three men. The incident took place around 11 p.m. on Saturday. According to police sources, the woman was resting in her room when the lodge owner, Devadas, along with two staff members, Riyas and Suresh, allegedly tried to assault her. In a desperate bid to save herself, she leaped from the building, sustaining injuries in the process.
She was immediately rushed to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have confirmed that her condition is stable. The police registered a case against the accused under various sections related to trespassing and outraging the modesty of a woman. Investigators are gathering evidence and recording statements to establish the sequence of events leading up to the incident.
