The accused, Shashi Ranjan Mishra, reportedly attacked the girls with a sharp-edged weapon while they were asleep in their flat located in the Kidwai Nagar area. According to police officials, the accused himself alerted authorities about the incident in the early hours of Sunday. When officers arrived at the scene, they found both children lying lifeless in a pool of blood, while the father was present inside the house.
