A flight operating from Hyderabad to Hubballi was diverted to Bengaluru after encountering severe weather conditions near its destination, causing concern among passengers onboard. The aircraft remained in the air for nearly three-and-a-half hours, significantly longer than the scheduled duration, as it attempted to land safely. Several passengers reportedly panicked during the extended delay, with some becoming emotional due to the uncertainty.
According to airport officials, the flight departed Hyderabad around 3 PM and was expected to land in Hubballi by 4:30 PM. However, unfavourable weather conditions prevented a safe landing. The aircraft circled over Hubballi for nearly an hour in hopes of improvement before the pilot made the decision to divert to Bengaluru, following standard aviation safety procedures. The flight eventually landed safely in Bengaluru at approximately 6:30 PM.
Officials confirmed that all 22 passengers onboard were safe and no technical fault was involved in the incident. The airline clarified that the diversion was purely weather-related and part of established safety protocols. Once conditions improved later in the evening, the flight resumed its journey to Hubballi and subsequently returned to Hyderabad, maintaining that there was no compromise on passenger safety at any stage.
