A gunfight between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district resulted in the death of Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar of the Army’s 2 Para unit. Three other soldiers were injured in the encounter.
The operation was launched in response to the killing of two Village Defence Guards (VDGs) by terrorists. Security forces intercepted the terrorists in the Keshwan forest, leading to an exchange of fire.
