Israeli Forces Kill 15 in Gaza School Raid Amid Intensifying Conflict

At least 15 Palestinians were killed on Sunday after Israeli forces stormed a school sheltering displaced families in Gaza’s Beit Hanoon region. The Khalil Oweida School, targeted without prior warning, came under heavy artillery fire as tanks and armored vehicles encircled the area. Witnesses described scenes of devastation, with injured civilians trapped in classrooms unable to access medical care due to non-operational hospitals nearby. Among the dead were a family of four, including two children, as their classroom took a direct hit.

The attack is part of a broader wave of violence across Gaza, where at least 46 Palestinians have been killed in the last 24 hours. The Gaza Ministry of Health reported five “massacres” during this period, including multiple airstrikes on residential areas. The Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in southern Gaza City and Zeitoun saw heavy casualties, with strikes destroying homes and killing several civilians. Displaced individuals sheltering in tents and schools have increasingly been targeted, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

Journalists have not been spared in the violence. On Saturday, two Palestinian reporters, Mohammed Jabr al-Qrinawi and Mohammed Balousha, were killed in separate Israeli airstrikes, bringing the total number of journalists killed in the conflict to 196. Gaza’s Health Ministry stated that over 44,000 Palestinians have lost their lives since the conflict escalated in October 2023. The region remains under siege, with limited humanitarian aid and escalating violence threatening an already dire situation
