Indore Launches First Direct International Flight to Abu Dhabi

Madhya Pradesh has achieved a major milestone in its aviation sector with the launch of its first international flight from Indore to Abu Dhabi. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav flagged off the inaugural service on July 15 under the Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy-2025. The new route establishes a direct air link between Indore and the capital of the United Arab Emirates, enhancing international connectivity for the state.

The service is being operated by Air India Express and will run four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The direct connection is expected to provide significant convenience for passengers from the Malwa-Nimar region, particularly business travellers, students, tourists, and members of the Indian diaspora living in the UAE. The new route is also expected to strengthen trade, tourism, and cultural ties between Madhya Pradesh and the Gulf region.

Until now, passengers travelling from Indore to Abu Dhabi had to transit through major hubs such as Delhi or Mumbai, making the journey considerably longer. The launch of the direct flight is expected to reduce travel time substantially while offering a more comfortable and efficient travel experience. Officials believe the new international service will boost economic activity, improve global connectivity for Madhya Pradesh, and pave the way for additional overseas flight routes from the state in the future.
