AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has urged voters in Telangana to submit their Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms well before the official deadline, encouraging them to complete the process by July 20 instead of waiting until July 24. Addressing a public gathering in Hyderabad, Owaisi said early submission would help Booth Level Officers (BLOs) manage the large number of applications more efficiently. He also stated that the AIMIM has developed a mobile application with the support of Hyderabad’s youth to assist voters in filling out and submitting their SIR forms.
During his address, Owaisi claimed that the SIR exercise is linked to issues of citizenship and emphasized the importance of ensuring that eligible voters complete the verification process without delay. The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Telangana began on June 25 and will continue until July 24 as part of the Election Commission’s ongoing voter roll verification drive. Owaisi appealed to citizens to participate actively in the exercise and make use of the assistance being provided by the party to avoid any last-minute difficulties.
The AIMIM chief also spoke on issues related to religious radicalisation, questioning the way the term is used in public discourse. He argued that acts such as mob lynching and attacks targeting individuals because of their appearance should also be viewed seriously, while asserting that religion should not be blamed for the actions of individuals. In addition, Owaisi announced that the AIMIM will organise special prayers on July 26, seeking rainfall in view of the deficient monsoon experienced in Telangana this season.
