Hyderabad Woman and Her Daughter Found Dead in Hussain Sagar Lake

A heartbreaking incident has shaken Hyderabad after the bodies of 28-year-old chartered accountant Keerthika Agarwal and her two-year-old daughter Biyara were recovered from Hussain Sagar Lake. According to reports, Keerthika had been living with her parents in Bahadurpura for over a year, following ongoing family disputes. On November 2, she allegedly jumped into the lake with her child, leaving locals stunned. While her body was discovered the next day near Neera Café, her identity could only be confirmed on Tuesday after her parents filed a missing complaint and identified her at the police station.

Police officials initiated a search operation soon after the discovery, which led to the recovery of the toddler’s body from the same lake. Preliminary investigation points towards domestic conflict as the possible cause of the alleged suicide. The case has raised serious concerns about the mental and emotional struggles faced by many women dealing with personal crises behind closed doors. Authorities have registered a case and launched a full investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic deaths.

This devastating incident has once again brought Hussain Sagar Lake into the spotlight for the wrong reasons — a place known for its scenic beauty now shadowed by recurring suicide cases. Locals and activists are urging the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the police to take preventive measures, including tighter surveillance and mental health awareness campaigns. The tragedy of Keerthika and her little daughter serves as a grim reminder of how unresolved emotional distress can end in irreversible loss.
