Hyderabad BLOs intensify SIR form collection drive after ECI extends deadline

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across Hyderabad have stepped up efforts to collect filled-in Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms after the Election Commission of India (ECI) extended the deadline for the exercise. The intensified drive is underway in all Assembly constituencies, with BLOs making repeated visits to households to ensure eligible electors complete and submit their forms for the ongoing electoral roll revision. Officials said the extension has given them additional time to improve voter participation and complete the collection process.

According to BLOs, many electors were unavailable despite multiple visits, prompting officials to adopt alternative methods to reach them. They are now contacting voters through phone calls, coordinating with Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and in some cases seeking assistance from neighbours to ensure the forms are submitted. Electors have also been encouraged to contact their respective BLOs directly if they need clarification or assistance while filling out the enumeration forms.

Officials said the focus has now shifted entirely from distributing forms to collecting completed ones following the revised SIR schedule announced by the ECI. They expressed confidence that the extended deadline would help increase the response rate and ensure that more eligible voters are included in the updated electoral rolls. The collection drive is expected to continue across Hyderabad until the revised schedule is completed.
