The Telangana High Court has directed all parties to maintain the status quo over disputed land in Bahadurguda village near Shamshabad, where the state government has proposed land acquisition for the bullet train project. Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy issued the interim order after observing that the matter involves serious disputes regarding ownership and possession of the land. The court has scheduled the next hearing for August 11, and no changes to the existing situation can be made until further orders.
The dispute reached the High Court through two separate writ petitions. One was filed by 85 farmers, while the other was submitted by Mustang Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd. along with two others. The petitioners alleged that officials from the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), the revenue department, and the police entered the disputed land without following due legal procedure. They claimed authorities attempted to evict occupants, demolish structures, and interfere with their possession without issuing the required notices.
Mustang Infra Projects further alleged that officials tried to take possession of nearly 49 acres of patta land without complying with legal requirements. The company sought protection from any further interference with its property. Opposing the petitions, Advocate General A. Sudershan Reddy argued that the allegations lacked merit. After hearing arguments from both sides, the High Court ordered all parties to maintain the existing status of the land until further orders and adjourned the matter for the next hearing on August 11.
