Dr. Ilambarithi K has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), replacing Amrapali Kata who has been instructed to return to Andhra Pradesh. The order was issued by Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari on October 16, 2024. Dr. Ilambarithi has been transferred from his previous position as Commissioner of Transport to take on this new role.
In addition to Dr. Ilambarithi’s appointment, several other Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers have been assigned new roles. N Sridhar will serve as Principal Secretary in the Youth Advancement, Tourism, and Culture Department, while Sandeep Kumar Sultania will take on the role of Secretary in the Energy Department and Chairman and Managing Director of Genco and Transco. Dr. Christina Z Chongthu, Secretary in the Department of Health, Medical, and Family Welfare, has been designated to serve as the Director of AYUSH.
