Encroachment Clearance Drive Conducted Along Busy Dilsukhnagar Service Road

Municipal authorities carried out a large-scale encroachment removal drive along the Dilsukhnagar service road in Hyderabad on Thursday as part of efforts to improve traffic movement and reclaim public spaces. The operation covered the stretch from Sai Baba Temple to Megha Theatre and Venkatadri Theatre, where officials removed unauthorised structures and obstructions that had occupied footpaths and roadside areas. The drive was conducted under the supervision of senior municipal officials, who monitored the progress and ensured that the operation was carried out smoothly.

According to officials, the primary objective of the initiative was to restore pedestrian access, reduce traffic congestion, and improve safety for commuters using one of the city’s busiest commercial corridors. Encroachments on footpaths and road margins had been causing inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists for a long time, prompting the civic body to undertake the clearance operation. Authorities said such drives are essential to maintaining orderly urban infrastructure and ensuring that public spaces remain accessible to everyone.

Municipal officials stated that the encroachment removal campaign is part of an ongoing effort to keep Hyderabad’s roads clean, safe, and free from illegal obstructions. They added that similar drives will continue in other areas wherever public land has been encroached upon, with the aim of improving civic amenities and traffic management across the city. Residents and shopkeepers have also been urged to cooperate with the authorities and avoid occupying public spaces without permission to ensure long-term compliance with civic regulations.
