Maharashtra Caretaker CM Eknath Shinde Discharged from Hospital After Health Concerns

Maharashtra caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was discharged from Thane’s Jupiter Hospital on December 3, after being admitted earlier in the day due to health issues. Shinde had been complaining of a sore throat and fever for several days, prompting his decision to visit the hospital for a routine check-up. Despite his recent health scare, Shinde reassured the public, stating, “I am fine, do not worry,” as he was driven out of the hospital. He had been resting at his private residence in Mumbai following his illness.

Speculation had earlier swirled around Shinde’s well-being and his political future after he traveled to his village in Satara district on Friday, fueling rumors of dissatisfaction over the formation of the new Mahayuti government. This came after the alliance, consisting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar), emerged victorious in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Despite the alliance’s strong performance, there has been a lack of clarity on who will take over as the new Chief Minister, with Devendra Fadnavis of the BJP seen as a potential frontrunner.

Shinde had dismissed the rumors of any rift within the alliance, confirming that the BJP would have the final say on the CM’s appointment. On December 1, he assured reporters that all discussions between the alliance partners were ongoing, and a decision on the Chief Minister would be made in the coming days. With tensions simmering over the CM post, the situation continues to remain fluid, leaving the state’s political future uncertain.
