Trump Blames Biden and Harris for Second Assassination Attempt

Former US President Donald Trump has accused President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of inspiring the second assassination attempt on his life through their rhetoric. Trump claims that the suspected gunman, Ryan Wesley Routh, acted on the “highly inflammatory language” used by Democrats. This incident occurred just months after Trump was shot in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania.

Trump criticized Biden and Harris for labeling him a “threat to democracy” while portraying themselves as “unity” leaders. He argued that their rhetoric is causing harm and that they are the ones destroying the country. Democrats, on the other hand, have blamed Trump for inciting violence and being a threat to democracy, particularly due to his handling of the January 6, 2021, US Capitol riot.

Biden has condemned the assassination attempt, emphasizing that America must work to stop political violence. He stated that such acts “solve nothing” and only “tear the country apart”. The FBI is currently investigating the motive behind the attack. This incident marks another tumultuous event in the 2024 presidential campaign.
