Hyderabad Schools Declare 2-Day Holiday for Ganesh Chaturthi and Milad-un-Nabi

Schools in Hyderabad have announced a two-day holiday, September 16 and 17, to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and Milad-un-Nabi. The holiday allows students to participate in festivities and enables authorities to manage traffic and security during the events.

The Telangana government declared September 17 a holiday for schools and colleges within and around Hyderabad due to Ganesh immersion processions. Initially, September 16 was scheduled for Milad-un-Nabi celebrations, but the Muslim community postponed it to September 19 to avoid overlapping with Ganesh Chaturthi.

Traffic restrictions will be in place from September 10 to 16, with diversions applied from 3 pm to midnight. Authorities have taken these measures to ensure smooth festivities and minimize disruptions. This dual celebration showcases Hyderabad’s cultural diversity and communal harmony.
