In response to the worsening flood situation in Budameru, Andhra Pradesh, Municipal and Urban Development Minister Ponguru Narayana announced the deployment of the army to help repair the third breach caused by the floods. The minister stated that the government is working diligently to stabilize the situation within the next 48 hours.

Efforts include a comprehensive sanitation drive to be completed within 24 hours, aiming to prevent health hazards in flood-affected areas. Narayana emphasized the state’s commitment to ensuring that no one goes hungry, with the distribution of lakhs of food kits already underway. These kits contain essential supplies to help residents who have been displaced or affected by the floods.

During a visit to Vijayawada’s Siddhartha College, the minister inspected the packing and distribution process of the food supplies. He mentioned that food had been delivered by boat to reach those stranded in the flood-hit areas during the past week.

The government’s coordinated approach, involving both immediate relief and long-term recovery plans, highlights its commitment to restoring normalcy and providing continuous support to those impacted by the floods in Budameru.
