Greater Noida Family Death Mystery Deepens, Voice Note Leads to Arrest of Three Relatives

The investigation into the deaths of five members of a family in Greater Noida has taken a dramatic turn after police arrested two sisters and a brother-in-law of one of the deceased based on a voice note recovered during the probe. The family was initially believed to have died due to suspected food poisoning after reportedly consuming tea and noodles the previous night. However, post-mortem examinations indicated signs of poisoning, prompting investigators to explore other possibilities. Police now suspect the deaths may have been the result of suicide linked to a long-running property dispute, although the exact cause will be confirmed only after forensic examination of preserved viscera samples.

According to investigators, the breakthrough came after the recovery of a voice note recorded by 37-year-old Mahesh, one of the deceased family members. In the recording, Mahesh allegedly blamed his sisters, Sunita and Sapna, along with his brother-in-law Shekhar, for the hardships faced by his family. Based on the contents of the recording and the ongoing investigation, police arrested the three relatives for questioning. Authorities are now examining the family’s financial and personal disputes to determine whether sustained pressure or harassment played a role in the tragic incident.

Officials have clarified that there is currently no evidence to suggest that noodles or any other food item directly caused the deaths, despite the initial suspicion of food poisoning. Investigators are awaiting the results of forensic laboratory tests to establish the precise cause of death and determine whether poisonous substances were consumed voluntarily or under other circumstances. The case remains under active investigation, with police collecting additional evidence and questioning family members to uncover the full sequence of events leading to the deaths.
