A bus travelling from Delhi to Srinagar came under attack near Kurukshetra in Haryana after unidentified individuals allegedly pelted it with stones and bricks late on Saturday night. The incident took place around 10:45 pm when the Kashmir-based Star World Ventures bus had stopped near Divine Star Dhaba. According to reports, the attackers first abused the driver before hurling stones and bricks at the vehicle, shattering several windowpanes, damaging the tail lights and creating panic among the nearly 40 passengers travelling onboard. An elderly Kashmiri passenger reportedly sustained injuries during the attack.

Videos shared on social media showed broken glass scattered inside the bus and an elderly man with blood visible on his face. However, the reported injury and the exact motive behind the incident have not been independently verified. The attack has raised concerns over the safety of passengers travelling on the Delhi-Srinagar route, while authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible for the assault.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah strongly condemned the attack and urged the Haryana government and state police to take immediate action against the culprits. In a post on X, he described the incident as unfortunate and called for strict measures to ensure such attacks are not repeated in the future. The incident has drawn widespread attention, with demands for a thorough investigation and enhanced security for public transport carrying passengers between Delhi and Kashmir.
