Akbaruddin Owaisi Hints at Skipping Next Telangana Assembly Elections

AIMIM senior leader and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi has hinted that he may not contest the next Telangana Assembly elections. Speaking at an event held at Fatima College in Bandlaguda, Hyderabad, Owaisi said that he is no longer thinking about contesting elections and suggested that he may stay away from the electoral race. His remarks have sparked fresh political discussions across Telangana.

During his speech, Akbaruddin Owaisi reflected on his political journey, saying that despite not receiving a college education, he has earned a respected position in public life. He added that he has reached a stage where even the Chief Minister responds to his statements, highlighting his influence in Telangana politics.

If Akbaruddin Owaisi decides not to contest the upcoming Assembly elections, it could mark a significant shift in AIMIM’s political strategy, particularly in Hyderabad’s Old City. His statement has also triggered speculation over who the party may choose to replace him, although AIMIM has not made any official announcement on the matter.
