Trump Claims He Could Easily End Pakistan-Afghanistan Conflict, Boasts of “Saving Millions of Lives”

US President Donald Trump has once again sparked global attention with his bold claims, asserting that it would be “easy” for him to resolve the ongoing conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Speaking during a working lunch with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House, Trump said he has already “solved multiple global wars” and “saved millions of lives” during his tenure. Referring to the latest border clashes and airstrikes, Trump remarked, “Although I understand Pakistan attacked, or there is an attack going on with Afghanistan — that’s an easy one for me to solve if I have to solve it. In the meantime, I have to run the USA, but I love solving wars.”

The comments came as tensions escalated between Islamabad and Kabul after the expiry of a 48-hour ceasefire. Reports suggested that the truce was extended and peace talks were expected in Doha, but the Taliban accused Pakistan of violating the agreement by launching airstrikes in Paktika province along the Durand Line. A senior Taliban official claimed that Pakistan’s actions had effectively “broken” the ceasefire. International observers warned that renewed hostilities could derail diplomatic progress in the region and worsen the already fragile humanitarian situation.

Continuing his remarks, Trump reiterated his long-standing grievance over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, claiming credit for resolving “eight wars” across different continents. “Go to Rwanda and Congo, talk about India and Pakistan — look at all the wars we solved,” he said. Trump added that while others received accolades, he only cared about “saving lives.” This year’s Nobel Peace Prize went to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who, during her acceptance speech, notably praised Trump for his “unwavering support” for Venezuela’s fight for democracy.
