A major road accident near Hayathnagar Police Station on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway triggered a massive rescue operation early Wednesday morning after a tipper lorry crashed into a stationary container truck. The impact of the collision severely damaged the front portion of the vehicle, trapping the driver inside the mangled cabin. The victim was identified as Sampangi Naveen, a resident of Chinnaraviryala village.
Police personnel, ambulance teams, and rescue workers rushed to the accident spot and spent nearly an hour trying to pull the injured driver out of the wreckage. Rescue teams reportedly used heavy cutters and emergency equipment to carefully break open the crushed cabin and extricate Naveen safely. Officials said the driver suffered serious injuries in the accident and was immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital for emergency treatment.
The accident caused major traffic congestion on the busy national highway during peak morning hours, forcing authorities to divert vehicles through the service road until the damaged vehicles were cleared from the area. Police have begun an investigation into the incident and are examining how the tipper lorry rammed into the stationary container truck. The dramatic rescue operation also drew attention from commuters and locals gathered near the accident site as emergency teams worked to save the trapped driver.
