At the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos, the Telangana government announced ₹71,800 crore in investments, projected to create 15,050 jobs in the state. Major contributors include Sun Petro Chemicals, investing ₹45,500 crore with plans to generate 7,000 jobs, and Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), committing ₹15,000 crore for 4,250 jobs. Additional investments came from CtrlS with ₹10,000 crore (3,600 jobs) and JSW with ₹8,000 crore (200 jobs). Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace has also pledged ₹5,000 crore towards state development.
Telangana’s collaboration with Unilever marked a significant milestone as the company plans to establish two manufacturing units in the state—a palm oil processing unit in Kamareddy district and a bottle caps production facility. Previously, Unilever had limited operations in Telangana, making this a noteworthy expansion. The chief minister’s office emphasized the state’s growing appeal to multinational firms, showcasing it as a preferred investment destination.
This year’s investments surpass the ₹40,000 crore secured at Davos in 2024, where firms like Adani Group, JSW, and Tata Technologies had committed to new projects. With a surge in job opportunities and industrial advancements, Telangana continues to strengthen its global economic presence.
