Telangana CM Slams Allu Arjun for Role in Stampede Incident

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on actor Allu Arjun and the production team of Pushpa 2, holding them accountable for the tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The incident claimed the life of Revathi, a mother, and left her nine-year-old son, Sri Tej, in critical condition. Despite police denying permission for the event due to crowd control concerns, the actor and team proceeded with a promotional event, leading to chaos as thousands of fans gathered. The CM criticized Allu Arjun for prioritizing self-promotion over public safety and condemned the behavior of film personalities who supported the actor while neglecting the grieving family.

In his statement to the Assembly, the CM questioned whether film stars and political figures are above the law. Revanth Reddy clarified that his government adheres strictly to constitutional principles, ensuring equality before the law. He condemned Allu Arjun for participating in a car rally and staying at the theatre despite police orders to leave, which exacerbated the situation. The CM emphasized that such actions not only violated the law but also led to the tragic loss of life. He called out the film industry for its insensitivity, urging them to act responsibly and with societal consideration while conducting their promotional activities.

The CM also highlighted the financial struggles of Revathi’s family, noting that the family spent ₹12,000 on tickets for the movie due to Sri Tej’s admiration for the actor. Stressing the importance of accountability, the CM assured that those involved in the tragedy, including Allu Arjun, would face legal consequences. The state government, he added, is committed to justice and will continue to enforce regulations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
