A tragic accident on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Manchirevula Bridge claimed the life of a 33-year-old man, Anand Kamble, and left four others injured on Saturday, March 22. The crash involved a high-speed Mahindra Marazo driven by Kamble and a Tata Safari traveling in the opposite direction. According to Narsingi police, Kamble, a resident of Rajendranagar, was heading towards Gachibowli when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with the Tata Safari, which was en route from Narsingi to Vikarabad. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to Kamble’s instant death at the scene, while the occupants of the Safari suffered serious injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported that both vehicles were severely damaged, with debris scattered across the highway. A video circulating on social media shows the wreckage, highlighting the devastating impact of the crash. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, shifting the injured passengers to a nearby hospital for treatment, while Kamble’s body was transported to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanahita (BNS) for negligent driving, and further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident, including whether overspeeding or other factors contributed to the fatal crash.
The incident has raised concerns over reckless driving on the ORR, which has witnessed multiple high-speed collisions in recent months. Authorities are urging motorists to adhere to speed limits and exercise caution, especially on busy stretches like Manchirevula Bridge. Traffic police have been increasing surveillance and imposing strict penalties to curb violations, but incidents like these highlight the ongoing challenges in ensuring road safety. With an increasing number of accidents reported on Hyderabad’s highways, officials are now considering additional safety measures, such as speed-monitoring cameras and enhanced patrolling, to prevent further tragedies.
