“Protests Erupt in UP, AMU Over Yati Narsinghanand’s Remarks Against Prophet Muhammad”

Protests were held in several parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), demanding the arrest and strict punishment of controversial priest Yati Narsinghanand for his remarks against Prophet Muhammad. The protests led to clashes with police, resulting in arrests. In Saharanpur, 13 people were arrested for stone pelting at a police post.

AMU students took out a peaceful protest march on campus, submitting a memorandum to district officials addressed to the President. The memorandum alleged that Narsinghanand’s hate speeches have emboldened him to continue his diatribe against Muslims. Similar protests were held in Ghaziabad, Meerut, and other places.
