Owaisi Accuses BRS of Involvement in Telangana’s Asifabad Violence

Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has made shocking allegations against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party. Speaking at a public meeting in Hyderabad, Owaisi claimed that BRS workers were predominantly involved in the recent violence in Jainoor, Asifabad district, where Muslim houses were attacked. He expressed surprise that BRS workers outnumbered BJP workers in the attacks.

Owaisi criticized the BRS party for remaining silent on the Jainoor violence and the Waqf Bill, stating that they are adopting a “wait-and-watch policy.” He warned that the AIMIM will respond accordingly. In solidarity with the affected families, the AIMIM party is providing Rs. 36 lakh in financial assistance and ration kits to over 1,000 people.

The communal tension in Asifabad district erupted after a mob of nearly 2,000 people attacked Muslim properties following the sexual assault of a tribal woman by an auto driver. Local police struggled to contain the violence due to the large number of people involved. Owaisi has condemned the violence and spoken with the Telangana Director General of Police regarding the incident.
