Two minor girls narrowly escaped a suspected kidnapping attempt in Telangana’s Nalgonda district after jumping from a moving auto-rickshaw. According to police, the girls had hired the auto from Nakrekal to travel to Utkoor village in Shaligouraram mandal. Although the driver initially agreed to take them to their destination, he allegedly changed the route midway and headed towards Inupamula Gutta in Kethepally mandal, raising suspicion among the passengers.
During the journey, the girls reportedly overheard the driver speaking to another person over the phone. He allegedly informed the caller that he was bringing two minor girls and asked the person to meet him at Inupamula Gutta. Realising they could be in danger, the girls took the risky decision to jump out of the moving auto to save themselves. Local passers-by immediately rushed to help the injured girls and ensured they received assistance.
The girls sustained injuries in the incident and were shifted to a government hospital for treatment. Based on their complaint, Nakrekal police registered a case and launched an investigation to identify the accused and determine the exact sequence of events. Authorities are examining all available evidence, including the driver’s movements and call records, while further legal action will depend on the outcome of the investigation.
